Top Line Grind (TLG) was created to support young Australian players with big hockey dreams.

Growing up in a small talent pool with limited opportunities can make the pathway to higher levels feel out of reach. TLG exists to change that—providing the guidance, connections, and support needed to open doors and make those dreams possible.

Growing up playing ice hockey in Sydney, I was fortunate to have a few mentors who believed in me and encouraged me to take my game overseas. That belief meant everything. Beyond that, though, I was largely on my own—cold-calling Canadian teams as a 16-year-old, pitching myself for camp invites, and learning through trial and error. More often than not, success came down to building relationships and making strong first impressions.

Those early experiences shaped me into the player and person I am today. Over a 20-year semi-professional career, I’ve played for the Sydney Bears in the AIHL, represented Australia on the National Men’s Team, and competed at both junior and senior levels in Sweden, Canada, Japan, and England. Each of those opportunities showed me what true player development looks like—and how crucial the right guidance can be at the right time.

That’s why TLG exists: to provide that guidance. Through a mix of coaching, mentorship, and player representation, TLG gives athletes structure, transparency, and genuine connections. For players with the mindset and drive to pursue opportunities overseas, we’re here to prepare them for every step—so they have someone in their corner who’s lived it, and who’s ready to help them succeed in their hockey journey.

Now it’s your turn.

If you’ve got the passion and drive, TLG can help you build the pathway. Whether it’s mentorship, coaching, or preparing for opportunities overseas, we’re here to guide your journey and open the doors to what’s possible.
